The inGOV project will participate in the 23rd Annual International Conference on Digital Government Research (https://dgsociety.org/dgo-2022/), an established forum for presentation, discussion, and demonstration of interdisciplinary research on digital government, civic engagement, technology innovation, applications, and practice. This year’s theme is intelligent technologies, governments and citizens. During this conference, inGov will join a workshop, two-panel discussions and the presentation of a paper.

‘A Framework for Integrated Public Services Co-Creation and Sustainability’ workshop will be organised by consortium partners. Noella Edelmann (DUK), Efthimios Tambouris (UoM), Ana-Paula Rodriguez Müller (KUL) and Anita Cioffi (Deloitte) will lead this workshop that aims to present the H2020 inGOV project, discuss with participantsthe role of co-creation within the European Interoperability Framework, the Integrated Public Services (IPS) holistic framework and sustainable co-creation for policy development. It is an excellent opportunity for the consortium not only to provide information about the project and its results through this workshop, but also to collect the conference participants’ valuable opinions and expertise.

‘Democratizing co-production of sustainable public services’ panel will be joined by Trui Steen (KUL), A. Paula Rodriguez Müller (KUL) and Noella Edelmann (DUK).  The panel discussion aims to debate about the challenge of how to give place to novel public services truly addressing the needs and demands of citizens to facilitate their interactions with public administrations. It will explore how co-creation methodologies and supporting digital tools can be leveraged to give place to more widely adopted public services, driven by either bottom-up or top-down innovation initiatives. Firstly, the panel will describe the research progress achieved by INTERLINK and inGOV projects, both funded by H2020 “DT-GOVERNANCE-05-2020 – New forms of delivering public goods and inclusive public services” action. Secondly, it will open a debate to the public to gather their views on important key topics and barriers that have usually impended co-creation and co-production of public services, e.g., sustainable models for public services, continuous engagement of stakeholders, or quality assurance of public services.

‘New Forms of Delivering Public Goods and Inclusive Public Services: Enablers, Benefits, and Barriers’ panel will be joined by Trui Steen (KUL). The panel will bring together partners from three H2020 topics “DT-GOVERNANCE-05-2020 – New forms of delivering public goods and inclusive public services” projects, namely ACROSS, inGOV and INTERLINK. Based on the best practice cases studied and the piloting of innovative ICT-supported models for enhancing policies, models and frameworks to advance truly integrated public services as part of the inGOV project, Trui Steen will discuss enabling factors as well as barriers for engaging stakeholders in the co-creation of integrated public services. Other issues to be addressed by the panel members include, amongst others, evaluating the quality of co-produced public services, or addressing organizational silos problems and mechanisms to promote sustainable development and delivery of co-produced public services.

The conference will be held online 15-17, June 2022.
